The Duo

Romeo Battilana

In 1960 Romeo (Rom) Battilana began an apprenticeship in Panel Beating at Cassanova Crash Repairs.  He later moved on to work as the sole panel beater at Cafasso Motor Body Repairs in 1978.   Here his exemplary workmanship and passion for his craft contributed to the company being awarded the Mercedes Benz authorisation for South Australia .

After some years, Rom saw an opportunity to open his own body repair shop and so Edwardstown Body Repairs was formed in 1984.  Rom’s vision for the business was to provide his clients with the best quality of workmanship possible.  He was dedicated to continuously expanding his skill set to ensure that each job was completed to the highest standard.

Due to this approach and expertise with European vehicles, Edwardstown Body Repairs gained the sole authorisation for Porsche body repairs in South Australia.  Over the coming years, Rom successfully completed training at the Porsche Centre in Melbourne.

Rom is a trusted and respected member of the Autobody industry.  His knowledge and experience over the decades has been the driving force behind the success, longevity and reputation of Edwardstown Body Repairs.  His clients hold his opinions and attention to detail in high regard, along with his coffee making skills!

Mark Battilana

From an early age, Mark was surrounded by prestige vehicles.  He spent many an afternoon and weekend helping around the family business and it was here that his love affair with cars began.

Mark completed his apprenticeship at Edwardstown Body Repairs in 2001 and was judged the Most Skilled Apprentice on his graduation.  He was fortunate to have had the extensive knowledge and trusted guidance of Rom which has instilled in him a strong work ethic and intolerance for mediocrity.

Being able to work alongside his father, Mark has been able to draw upon Rom’s knowledge to further develop his own skills and techniques.  Together, they are able to combine their ideas to achieve the best results for their clients.

Mark respects the craftsmanship of how cars were originally built, and his intention is to always preserve the original quality of each vehicle.  He enjoys that each job presents its own set of challenges and is able to think creatively to produce a finished product that owner’s will be proud of.
